Double-handed regatta from Rockaway Point, NY, around Montauk Point on the eastern end of Long Island and finishing off of Glen Cove back in the western Long Island Sound.  Prior to the ALIR, Abilyn and fellow Mini, Frogger, will be competing head to head in a feeder race from Newport, RI to Sheepshead Bay in South Brooklyn, keeping Montauk to starboard.

The New England SOLO/TWIN is New England's version of a mini-Caribbean 600 race course.  Instead of a "there and back" format, the course for the Solo/Twin includes offshore government mark roundings off of Block Island and Martha's Vineyard, including some staple marks such as Buzzards Bay Light.  Courses range from 64.9 to 108 nm.  Abilyn likely will be racing this event in the solo division.

Distance racing is in for the 117th running of LYC Race Week being held on July 11-12 and 18-19, including an Around Execution Rocks challenge similar to the Mount Gay Rum Around Jamestown Record.  If three Minis sign up, we'll have a class, in which case my opponents for the windward-leeward days will be boats with equally crappy tacking angles.
