Back at the 2013 U.S. Sailboat Show in Annapolis, I picked up a Helly Hansen Ocean Jacket. I've been impressed with the brand since my days as a bad-ass skier, reflecting a personality that lies dormant within me, waiting for the next opportunity to unleash the two-planking fury. So, using HH outer layers for sailing was a no-brainer.
I have a virtually brand new HH Ocean Jacket that I'd like to sell, size large. I've never worn it sailing, and kept it stored in a vacu-sealed bag since October 2013. The jacket retailed for around USD 900, and can currently be found on Amazon for around USD 610 (before tax and shipping). I'm offering it here for USD 500, which is about $100 less than I paid at the boat show. This excludes whatever it costs for me to ship the jacket to you, which would be nothing if you live in the NYC area or really anywhere along the route between NYC and Newport, RI (as I'm heading up to Newport on November 1 for the Bermuda 1-2 forum).
Why haven't I worn the jacket, you ask? I started using HH's new line of coastal and Aegir ocean gear for most of the 2014 season. Aegir builds on technology found in the ocean jacket I'm selling, which includes HELLY TECH® Professional three-layer quick-dry construction, extra high Polartec® fleece collar, fully adjustable EN-471 hi-visibility hood, and stow-away face visor--just to list a few features.
So if you're in the market for serious protection from the elements, whether for ocean racing, offshore deliveries, or cruising, I highly recommend this jacket. Plus, by taking it off my hands, you will be helping me out because the amount of sailing-relating "clutter" in my apartment is starting to annoy my very understanding wife!
